Out with the old, in with the new.

Using H4 treated pine is the only subfloor that can be used (unless it’s aluminium) when building so close to the ground.

This deck size and shape only changed slightly, the choice of board completely changed. The client’s brief was low maintenance, sustainable, and beautiful.  AZEK English Walnut ticked all the boxes.

A long walkway connected the front to back of the home. One step up at the end of the runway, and bang, straight into the and the backyard. Canopy trees shadowed the main area in the warmer months, while low voltage lights will highlight the foliage at night.

Hawthorn

This once concrete pad is now an inner-city oasis. BBQ, outdoor kitchen and sitting area is all that's required for a family of 2 who wants to make the most of their private space.

Malvern East

We used a timber pendulum to create the radius and transferred that to some yellow tongue flooring where we created the same radius and mould. Once that was done a board was heated, laid in the mould and curved. Once cooled, that board formed the outer edge of the deck.
